The Super Eagles of Nigeria, will on Saturday take on bitter rivals Cameroon in the AFCON 2023 knock out phase.
The Indomitable Lions finished runners up in Group-C as they emerged victorious in their final Group game against Gambia with K. Toko Ekambi’s opener in the 56th minute, an own goal from Gambia’s James Gomez in the 87th minute and 22 -year-old defender Christopher Wooh whose goal handed the Indomitable Lions’s round of 16 ticket.
The Indomitable Lions denied the Super Eagles three AFCON titles at the championship game in 1984, 1988 and 2000.
The fixture will prove to be a pulsating one as both sides will want to halt the other’s hopes of progressing to the quarterfinals.
The clash between Nigeria and Cameroon will be played on Saturday, at 9:00pm
