Senegal winger, Krepin Diatta has labelled organizers of the 2023 Africa Cup of Nations as corrupt after the Teranga Lions were eliminated by Ivory Coast on Monday.

The 24-year-old Monaco player made this known in a chat in a post match interview with France 24, where he criticized the center referee, Pierre Ghislain Atcho, the Video Assistant Referee (VAR) and CAF staff in the mixed zone for not awarding Senegal a penalty.

‘You have killed us. You are corrupt,’ Diatta said after the final whistle.

‘Keep your African Cup’ he added.

You go to the VAR to give them a penalty, while our guy (Sarr) picks up the ball 40 metres from goal, goes on a run into the box and you don’t want to go to VAR?’ Diatta accused gathered officials.

‘I’m sorry, but that is going too far. I’m really sorry, but they have killed our competition,’ he emphasised.

Recall that Ivory Coast ousted Senegal 5-4 on penalties to qualify to the quarter finals of the tournament.
