Antoine Griezmann scores stunning 100th-minute solo strike before Rodrigo Riquelme seals Copa Del Rey win for Atletico over arch-rivals in a heated Madrid derby clash.

Two goals in extra-time courtesy of Antoine Griezmann and Rodrigo Riquelme sent Atleti into the last eight as Real’s 21-match unbeaten streak came to an end.

Los Blancos had the first real opportunity after 12 minutes when Jude Bellingham found his way into the penalty area, slipped the ball through Axel Witsel’s legs before unleashing a thunderous strike which smashed the crossbar.

Just eight minutes later Real were denied again, this time by some wonderful goalkeeping from Jan Oblak. The Slovenian got down quickly to his right to keep out a deflection which cannoned his way before rushing over to his near post to deny Rodrygo on the follow up.

Atletico Madrid struck first six minutes from the interval, Antonio Rudiger rose highest to head away Rodrigo De Paul’s cross but could only divert it into the path of Samuel Lino at the back post who reacted quickly to fire past Andriy Lunin.

Real Madrid didn’t have to wait long for an equaliser, striking back just five minutes later. Oblak made a mess when coming for Luka Modric’s free-kick and the ball ended up over his head and into the back of the net.
