As part of the transformation and Make Edo Great Again (MEGA) agenda of the state governor, Mr Godwin Obaseki, the Executive Chairman of Etsako Central Local Government, Hon Solomon Obomighie has commenced the grading and opening up of new earth roads across the local government area.

Speaking during the official flag off at one of the selected roads at Dennis Abuda Road, Hon Obomighie said the grading of the earth roads is part of the ongoing efforts to enhance the infrastructural development in the local government area.

The chairman reaffirmed his commitment to the development of the local government as he emphasized the importance of creating an environment conducive to attracting investors to the local government and ensuring the overall progress of the local government.

He said all the major access earth roads in the local government were in dire need of government attention, especially those in the riverine and interior communities, saying this move is gear towards creating an enabling environment for the people through infrastructural development to boost socio-economic activities at the local government level.

The Council Chairman expressed that timely maintenance and intervention on infrastructures such as roads will have a positive impact on communities thereby making transportation easier and safer to bring their farm products to other major markets around them, adding that this proactive approach can make a big difference in people’s lives.

The council boss further stated that the initiative to grade some of the roads is part of a broader strategy to improve the infrastructure and connectivity within the local government area.

The chairman however appreciated the leaders, stakeholders, and the legislative arm of the local government for their support and cooperation.

He also thanked the residents for their patience as these significant projects are being undertaken to make life easier for them as he further appealed for their continued support and collaboration with the state government and the local government to work together to make Etsako Central a better place for all.

This infrastructural MEGA development is ongoing across the 18 LGAs in the state which is being carried out by the local government chairmen.
