The Federal Government has assured that it would complete the Abuja-Kaduna Highway in the next 24 months.

Minister of Works, Engr David Umahi, gave the assurance on Friday during an on-site inspection visit of the ongoing construction project in Kaduna which is being undertaken by leading construction company, Julius Berger Nigeria Plc.

The Works Minister, who was joined on the inspection visit by the Minister of Finance and Coordinating Minister of the Economy, Mr. Wale Edun, and the Managing Director Julius Berger, Engr. Lars Richter, noted that Julius Berger Nigeria Plc has the capacity to execute quality jobs if properly empowered financially, stressing that the presence of the Minister of Finance and Coordinating Minister of the Economy was an attestation of the commitment of the Federal Government under the leadership of President Bola Tinubu in his Renewed Hope Agenda to ensure that Nigerians move around on good roads at all times.

Speaking at the Construction Yard of Julius Berger Nig Plc in Kaduna, Mr. Edun said funds for the completion of the project would not be an issue as Mr. President was concerned about the project. He assured Julius Berger management that sourcing and provision of funds would not any way become a hindrance to the completion of the project.

The Abuja-Kaduna-Kano Highway has been ongoing for years and has since exceeded its initial 36-month completion date as revealed by the previous administration.
