BENIN CITY-: The Ewere and Asuen families of Benin Kingdom have again, out of deep pains painfully voiced out their sad feelings about the continuous missing and unknown whereabouts of their mother and matriarch, Mrs. Beatrice Ewere (Nee Asuen), since on the 7th day of April, 2022.
After the joint family meeting on December 20, 2023 a decision was unanimously reached by both families to reach out and appeal fervently to all concerned authorities and general public to please still endeavour without
relenting in helping to unravel the mystery surrounding the sudden disappearance of their daughter, sister, mother and wife.
According to the Head (Okaegbe) of the Asuen family of Benin, an octogenarian, Pa. Usunobun Asuen, who spoke to our correspondent, said the saddest part is the fact that not even anything has been heard about the missing
woman ever since, no trace of any kind nor any human ever sighting her anywhere from all over the whole world and no significant report from the police.
A reliable family source revealed that the eldest son Mr. Osariemen Ewere who joined the meeting virtually, voiced out his pains that the sudden disappearance of his mother is a mystery to him and thanked the families for their
continous support in the search for his mother. He said as it is, he cannot refer to his mother as late, neither to prepare nor arrange for her funeral at all, as her mysterious and continuous absence has changed everything for him and his siblings.
It will be recalled that the missing Mrs. Beatrice Ewere was last seen at her residence, No 28, Igun Street, off Sakponba Road, Benin City, when the daughterin-law, Mrs. Ewere Anthonia Osayi left her at home in the morning of that fateful day for school run to drop her son. Only to return and not meeting her motherin-law she left at home till date.
It was also revealed that the matter was earlier reported at the Police Area Command, Benin City. On the 8th of April, 2022, by the missing woman’s daughter, Miss Osadebamwen Tracy Ewere.
However, when contacted recently, on behalf of the Area Commander (AC) of the Benin Police Area Command, the Police Detective Dele Mamud confirmed on phone that the Police have never relented as they are still on top of the matter
and investigation still ongoing. He also informed the family to also still be vigilant to alert them on any slight information about her whereabout, whether dead or alive
