Namibia winger Deon Hotto scored in the second half to claim a 1-0 victory over the Carthage Eagles of Tunisia on Tuesday and keep up the series of shocking scorelines that have dominated the opening fixtures of the tournament.
Hotto found the back net to give the Southern African country who are 87 places behind Tunisia in the FIFA world ranking, a deserved victory as they were noticeably more daring and created the better chances in their opening Group E game at the Amadou Gon Coulibaly Stadium.
Hotto had scored again in the dying minutes, but his second goal was ruled as offside.
Namibia, have recorded their first victory in the competition after two draws and seven losses since they debuted in competition in 1998.
The brace warriors of Namibia will face south Africa on Sunday January 21 and face Mali three days later, Wednesday January 24.
