Imamu Umar has been relieved of his post as a referee in the Nigeria Premier Football League (NPFL) following wrong calls in an encounter over the weekend.

Umar was at the center-stage when Shooting Stars hosted Bayelsa United at Adamasingba Stadium, with the homers getting a 1-0 win.

Kazeem Ademola scored the solitary goal which proved enough for Shooting in the 11th minute, but eyebrows were raised over Umar’s officiating.

He made some controversial decisions which football fans and stakeholders at the match venue frowned at, and questioned his integrity as an official.
