Executive Assistant to the Delta State Governor on Women Mobilization, Mrs Ezinne Cecilia Ogbonyeri, has played host to People’s Democratic Party (PDP) women leaders in Ika South Local Government Area of the state.

The meeting, which took place in Agbor, wàs attended by women leaders from the 12 federal wards in the local government, including the Vice-Chairman, Ika South Local Government Area, Hon. Mrs Patience Agbomah.

Others are the Ika South PDP Deputy Chairman, Mrs Veronica Osayande, the Women Leader, Ika South PDP, Mrs Bridget Irubor, Mrs Hildah Ijeh, Mrs Aghedo, Mrs Romina Onyeario, Mrs Margaret Ogbuigwe, Dame Mrs Caroline Agbi, political appointees.

Addressing the women, the Executive Assistant, Mrs Ezinne Cecilia Ogbonyeri stated that part of the reasons she convened the meeting was to evaluate their past activities as PDP women, correct their mistakes and work on plans to achieve more results for the party.

She said, “It’s time to double our efforts. It’s all about better result now. This is not the time for boast, or time to consider anyone because you have stayed donkey years in PDP.

“You may claim to have been in PDP for many years but, how much have you contributed to the growth of our party? Good and special recognition will be given to any serious member of PDP even if the person is new in the party.”

She expressed appreciation to the women for their supports, noting that the women were her honour and pride, and urged them to remain committed to the PDP for their overall benefit.

In her remark, the Vice-Chairman, Ika South Local Government Council, Hon. Mrs Patience Agbomah, said she was proud of the PDP women in the local government and commended them for standing firm with the party.

She assured that she will continue to join efforts with other stakeholders in the local government to move PDP forward.

On his part, the Special Adviser to the Delta State Governor, on Entrepreneurship Development, Dr Donald Peterson, who was represented at the ceremony by Hon. Andrew Agwaze, urged the women to keep working hard for the PDP.

He pointed out that PDP is the only political party in the state that was out to better the lives of Deltans, therefore, all efforts should be geared towards moving the party forward.

She specially thanked Ezinne Cecilia Ogbonyeri and other women leaders of the party in the local government for their untiring efforts in advancing the interest of the party.

Another PDP chieftain, who spoke at the ceremony, Hon. Engr. Kenneth Isibor, said, “Ika South women have done very well for our great party, PDP.

“I’m commending our women and mothers for their great efforts towards the growth of PDP in our local government. Keep on supporting PDP and the government of Governor Sheriff Francis Oborevwori.”
