Victor Osimhen has expressed his optimism that the Super Eagles of Nigeria can win the highly anticipated Africa Cup of Nations title.
The hotly contested continental event commences is just a few days away and Osimhen is confident he and his teammates will put up fight for the title.
Nigeria are bidding to win the continental trophy for the fourth time after successes in 1980, 1994 and 2013.
It is that Osimhen, the African Footballer of the Year, that will lead Nigeria’s charge for the AFCON title in Côte d’Ivoire.
“The most important thing now for us is to go to Ivory Coast and do so well, as welll as win the tournament,” the Napoli marksman said to journalist Olawale Ayeni on X.
“I believe in this group, we’ve a of talented players to execute the job. Fingers crossed, and l know we’re going to do so well.”
Osimhen finished as the top scorer with 10 goals during the qualifiers for Nations, an impressive run he will hope to carry on at the AFCON 2023 showpiece.
