Scottish outfit Rangers are reportedly in the market for a new forward and have earmarked Super Eagles forward, Emmanuel Dennis as a potential signee.

Rangers are closing in on the signing of Dennis who is having a difficult period in his career as he is struggling to hit form.

The striker is currently on loan at Turkish side Istanbul Basaksehir from Nottingham Forest having fallen out of favour at the Premier League club.

He joined Nottingham in the summer of 2022 from relegated Watford for an eye-watering £20m, though, he was a regular in his debut season under Steve Copper, but he lost out in the pecking order following the arrival of Divock Origi, Chris Wood and Taiwo Awoniyi at the start of the new term.

Looking to get more playing time, the Nigerian was shipped out on loan to Basaksehir, However, the move hasn’t turned out as expected as he has failed to score or assist in eight matches for club.

According to reports emanating from Belgium via and , the 26 years old is looking to end his loan spell in Turkey and he is on way to Ibrox, home of Rangers.

Should the move materialize, Dennis will be reunited with his former coach Phillippe Clement in Scotland, with the latter interested in working the player again.

The duo worked together during their time at Club Brugge in Belgium where the Nigerian international hit a brace against Real Madrid in the Champions League and scored against Manchester United in the Europa League in the same campaign.

The report further add that Dennis stay at Basaksehir could be shortened as a move to Rangers this month is being considered, with the Eagle hoping to reignite his career.

The deep in-form situation was him missing out of Nigeria’s squad to this month’s Africa Cup of Nations in Côte d’Ivoire.

He was initially named in Jose Peseiro’s 40-man provisional list for the African football championship, but was later dropped.
