Nigerian artist and songwriter, Kingsley Chinweike Okonkwo, popularly known as Kcee, got into a celebratory mood on Thursday after a significant win of N11.7 million through a bet he placed on the Nigeria Super Eagles versus Côte d’Ivoire game at the ongoing 2023 African Cup of Nations (AFCON) football tournament.
Kcee had placed a substantial wager of N3 million on the Super Eagles to emerge victorious against the host nation, Côte d’Ivoire.
Ahead of the match, the ‘Limpopo’ crooner had taken to his Instagram page to share screenshots of the bet, notifying the Super Eagles that he had put his money on them.
“Let’s do this again Super Eagles! My money is on you guys!!! Eagles let’s soar high!!!” he wrote.
His bold move yielded a substantial return of N11.7 million as the Super Eagles won a 1-0 victory against Cote d’Ivoire in their second game of the tournament, having earlier drawn 1-1 against Equatorial Guinea.
In a viral video after the Super Eagles’ victory, secured a 1-0 victory against Cote d’Ivoire on Thursday, seen by The Nigerian Observer, the artist shared joyful moments with another singer, Teni, who cheered him on for his daring move.
“She’s too good. I promise you don’t play. Congratulations to me. @bet9jaig i win una today o,” Kcee wrote.
