In a momentous event heralding a new era of industrialization, the Honourable Commissioner for Mining and Energy, Hon. Ojiefoh Enaholo, alongside his esteemed team, graced the groundbreaking ceremony of 200,000MT coated calcium carbonate plant in Lampese, Akoko Edo Local Government Area of Edo State.

The ceremony, held in collaboration with the Edo State Investment Promotion Office (ESIPO) and chaired by the esteemed Hon. Tajudeen Alade Suleiman, chairman of Akoko Edo Local Government Area, marked a significant step forward in the economic development landscape of the region.

Representing the investment company, Izedon Industries, is the dynamic chairman, Osayi Izedonwen.

With an investment worth N20 billion, this ambitious project promises to revolutionize the industrial fabric of Lampese and the wider Edo State community. The plant’s colossal capacity of 200,000 metric tons of coated calcium carbonate signifies a robust commitment to meeting the burgeoning demands of key industries such as paper, plastics, paints, and coatings.

While addressing the people of Lampese at the ceremony on Thursday 8 of February 2024, the Honourable Commissioner noted: “One of the strategies to bring development is through industrialization. Our plan is to bring three multinational companies to Akoko Edo in no distant time. Two out of these three are already here. During the last week of January, the state government set up an international mineral processing and analysis center at Danbala in this local government. It will be completed in the next 90-days.

“We want to ensure every company coming here must employ youths. The way we have attracted BUA and Dangote to Okpella that same way we want to attract three multinational companies to Akoko Edo. I urge you to own this, provide security and peace for these companies”
