Speaker of the Edo State House of Assembly, Rt.Hon. Blessing Agbebaku, has commended Governor Godwin Obaseki for assenting to the bills for a law granting financial autonomy to both the legislative and the judicial arms of government respectively.

Rt.Hon. Agbebaku who made the commendation under matter of personal explanation during plenary, thanked the governor for his urgent response in assenting to the bills adding that it would further deepen the dividends of democracy in the state.

He also appreciated his colleagues and the staff of the house for their cooperation in achieving the enviable feat.

Also speaking during plenary, the member representing Esan North East 1 Constituency, Hon.Emankhu Addeh, appreciated the governor for assenting to the bills granting financial independence to the legislature and the judiciary.

Addeh called on other states to emulate Edo State by assenting to both bills in the interest of the dividends of democracy.

Other lawmakers concurred with the member representing Esan North East 1 in his submission.

Meanwhile, the Speaker announced the lifting of the suspension on the member representing Esan South East. Hon.Sunny Ijiezele who was suspended last week. Ijeziele was expected to resume on the next sitting day which was yesterday.
