Warri – Honourable Chief Thomas Ereyitomi, a member of the National Assembly representing Warri Federal Constituency, has addressed an open letter to President Bola Tinubu concerning the surveillance contract for pipelines in the Niger Delta region.

In a letter to President Tinubu, the Chairman of the House of Representative Committee on Petroleum Resources (Training Fund), Hon. Thomas Ereyitomi, called for the expansion of Tantita Security Services Limited’s (TSSL) operational scope. The company has demonstrated a sterling performance in securing the nation’s oil facilities, and Hon. Ereyitomi believes expanding their contract will further improve security.

He also called on the President and the Nigerian National Petroleum Company (NNPC) to renew the contract in a timely manner.
According to the Itsekiri-born politician, despite Tantita’s success in preventing billions of naira worth of crude oil from being stolen through the arrest of vessels carrying stolen crude, the security outfit’s contract has not yet been renewed.

Hon. Ereyitomi said renewing and expanding Tantita Security Services Limited’s (TSSL) contract will be crucial in eliminating oil theft in the country. He praised TSSL’s performance in reducing oil theft, and believes giving them a wider mandate will allow them achieve even greater success. In addition to contract renewal, he called for an increased focus on combating oil theft and protecting the nation’s oil facilities.
