In the ongoing Nigeria Premier Football League (NPFL) Matchday 23 games on Tuesday, Abia Warriors secured a surprising 1-0 away victory against Kano Pillars.

In another match fixture, Akwa United triumphed over Enyimba with a 3-1 win, while Sporting Lagos played to a goalless draw against Doma United.

Daniel Ijeh’s goal 12th minute from full time, helped the Umuahia-based Warriors to secure a 1-0 victory over Sai Masu Gida side, marking their inaugural away win this season. This defeat also marked Kano Pillars’ first loss at home in the current season.

Abia Warriors climbed to the eighth position with 33 points, while Pillars dropped out of the top five. Pillars now sit sixth place with 36 points after experiencing their first back-to-back loss this season. Both teams have played an equal number of games.

Akwa United made a successful comeback at Godswill Akpabio Stadium in Uyo with a 3-1 victory over the reigning League Champions, Enyimba.

The Nation reports that David Philip scored an early goal in the sixth minute to put the Promise Keepers ahead. Suleiman Sani doubled the lead in the 50th minute to make it 2-0.
