Rivers United managed a dramatic late comeback to secure a 2-1 triumph over Dreams FC in their final group stage clash of the CAF Confederations Cup.

All the Pride of Rivers needed was a win to progress to the quarter-finals of the CAF Confederations Cup, but they collided with rivals Dreams FC that overpowered them in the first leg fixture.

With a below performance start to the game, Rivers United fell behind in the 40th minute, thanks to a goal from Abdul Aziz Issah.

Notwithstanding, they regained their formation in the second half with Deputy Echeta scoring the equalizer for Rivers United in the 61st minute to stage a fierce end to the game.

Ultimately, Rivers United grabbed the winning goal in the 10th minute of the extra time, courtesy Kazie Godswill’s goal resulting from a shot, after a goalmouth contest, which he struck from inside the box to increase the scoreline to 2-1.

With the win, Rivers United are placed second in their group, behind Dreams FC.
