Edo State Commissioner for Environment and Sustainability, Arc. Joshua Omokhodion has called on residents in the state to join hands and support the state government in its quest to have an environment that is safe, clean, and healthy.

Arc. Joshua Omokhodion made this call when members of the Association of Livestock Managers and Food Products Dealers of Nigeria, Edo State Branch paid a courtesy visit to the Ministry.

The Commissioner commended the Association for their commitment and selflessness in their readiness to join forces with the state government to reverse the culture of uncleanliness, as a way of ensuring the state and the people are healthy.

According to him, “Governor Godwin Obaseki has always said that it is time for the people to take ownership of their environment and the Association had been able to achieve this by going out to sensitize residents on the dangers of living in a dirty environment and consuming adulterated food.

“I want to let you know that the state government is doing everything to reawaken that consciousness that cleanliness has always been a part of our culture and it should be a daily routine for us to have a clean state.”
