Edo State Commissioner for Health, Dr. Samuel Alli has reiterated Governor Godwin Obaseki’s commitment to prioritizing the health sector for the well-being of Edo Citizens.
This stance was demonstrated in the provision of space at Palm House along Sapele Road in Benin City, the Edo state capital, which would serve as an Emergency Operation Centre (EOC) and Situation Room.
Dr. Alli made this remark when he received the Country Director, Data Fi, and his team during a courtesy visit to his office in Benin City.
Commending the team for their visit, the Commissioner noted that USAID is key in implementing interventions, appealing that the Ministry of Health be carried along in their activities and interventions for proper planning.
Hon. Alli presented a letter of appreciation to the Data Fi Country Director (USAID) for their continuous support in the past, particularly concerning the establishment of a COVID-19 situation room as this helped to improve the visibility and accessibility of COVID-19 data in the State.
Earlier, the Country Director, Data Fi (USAID), Mr. Otse Ogorry thanked the Commissioner for the warm reception given to them, explaining that the visit was an introductory and familiarization visit, as it was the first since he took up the affairs of data files last year and also the first time of meeting with the leadership of the Ministry of Health.
He applauded the Commissioner’s leadership style in the provision of the needed direction and guidance to ensure activities are well implemented, especially in the aspect of providing a space for the integrated Emergency Operation Centre (EOC) and a situation room, thanking Edo State Governor, Mr. Godwin Obaseki for making the building available.
