Receiving the award, Mr. Alenkhe, commended YOCEM for finding him worthy for the honour. He said he was only doing his job as a journalist, not knowing his little contributions could be noticed by such a notable body as YOCEN.

While commenting on the prevailing economic hardship in the country, Alenkhe appealed to the federal government to consider a way it could reduce the tuition fees in the various tertiary institutions so that parents would be able to send their children and wards to higher institutions.

He also urged the youths in the country to shun cultism in their various universities, and concern themselves with the reason for being sent to school.
