Delta State Honourable Commissioner for Information, Dr. Ifeanyi Michael Osuoza, has assured members of the press that their welfare is of outmost importance to him; while pledging to add value to the practice of journalism in the State.

Dr. Osuoza made this declaration, while interacting with journalists during the February Congress of the Nigeria Union of Journalists (NUJ), Delta State Council held at the Press Center in Asaba, the State capital.

He said the Oborevwori-led government is people friendly and passionate about Delta State, adding that plans were in place to relieve the people of the current economy situation.

The Delta Spokesperson further charged journalists in the State to be professional in their reportage and support the present government by promoting the MORE agenda.

In his words, “Be professional in your reportage as I always say. If there’s any issue that you need clarification on, you can call or access me through the office.

“For those that are from Delta and those that lives in Delta, the State belongs to all of us. There is no discrimination, please let us do things that will advance the course of Delta,” he said.

He urged them not to dwell on reporting things that are negative but to also report those things that are positive in order to ensure a balanced reportage.

According to him, “There is nothing as bad as when you only take the story from one angle without hearing from the other side; this shows that you have lost the balancing aspect of the profession.”

The Congress was attended by the Commissioner for Information, Dr. Ifeanyi Osuoza, on whose entourage were the Permanent Secretary, Mr. Lucky Omokri, Director of Information Mrs. Theresa Oliko, Director of New Media and NAWOJ South-South Vice President (Zone F)High Comrade Stella Macaulay, and other directors of the ministry and media aids.

Others were the Executive Assistant to Governor Sheriff Oborevwori on Media, Comrade Norbert Chiazor, NUJ Chairman , Comrade Churchill Oyowe, State Chairperson of NAWOJ, Comrade Sonia Unobunjo, Vice Chairman, Comrade Felix Ekwu, Secretary, Comrade Victor Sorokwu and other members of the State Working Committee as well as veterans and media practitioners from the various chapels across the State
