Today, 8th March 2024, is International Women’s Day. International Women’s Day (March 8th) is a global day celebrating social, economic, cultural and political achievements of women. IWD is not country, group or organization-specific.
International days are occasions to educate the public on issues of concern to mobilize political will and resources to address global problems or celebrate and reinforce achievements of humanity.
The campaign theme for this year’s IWD is “Inspire Inclusion” and the overarching theme is “Invest in Women, Accelerate Progress”. It emphasizes the importance of creating an inclusive society and investing in women’s empowerment.
Do you know that the first International Women’s Day was held in March 1911? Do you know that there is “Inspire Inclusion” pose?
When we talk about “Inspire Inclusion”, what do we really mean? It actually means forging women’s economic empowerment; promoting creative and artistic talent of women and girls; recruiting, retaining and developing diverse talent of women; providing women and girls with sustainable agriculture and food security; providing women and girls with access to quality education and training; supporting women and girls into leadership, decision-making, business and STEM; designing and building infrastructure meeting the needs of women and girls; addressing further areas supporting the advancement of women and girls; elevating women and girls’ participation and achievement in sport; and helping girls and women to make informed decisions about their wealth and health.
Women are very powerful beings and co-creators with God. My topic today is “Inspire a Woman”. An inspired woman is a woman of strength from the song by Shaggy, “Strength of a Woman”. Please pause, imagine and picture a world without a woman. Personally, l can even think about it even when Shaggy describes her as a nag and a pain, he also acknowledges the fact that she has strength.
Every girl and woman you see is full of potential, all you need to do to bring out all that potential is just to inspire her.
Are you a woman reading this article? Celebrate yourself, you are strength embedded in beauty. Creation is not complete without a woman. There is no family without a woman. A thriving family life is heavily supported by the strength of a woman, that is why even when a woman loses her husband, she can still thrive with her children. It is never an easy journey but the capacity within her is strength and that is what empowers her. Women are powerful go-getters when inspired.
An inspired woman is a warrior on heels. An inspired woman is a fear tackler. An inspired woman is kind and compassionate. An inspired woman is a good listener. An inspired woman has great sense to uplift others. An inspired woman will have a positive outlook to life. An inspired woman is an independent woman. An inspired woman is self-reliant. An inspired woman is self-confident. An inspired woman is a supportive and empathetic woman. An inspired woman is authentic and genuine. An inspired woman is loving, can give love and receive love. An inspired woman is composed and even-tempered in challenging circumstances. An inspired woman confronts difficulties and adversaries with valour. An inspired woman becomes responsible. An inspired woman adapts gracefully to life’s changes, transitions and unforeseen circumstances, embodying a spirit of flexibility. An inspired woman will harness her skill and talent and give back to humanity. An inspired woman negotiates and partners with others for collaboration. An inspired woman will build business strategies and develop business that outlasts her. An inspired woman will be relevant in areas like executive management, business management and product management. Inspire a woman within your space of influence and watch her bloom.
