Boxing legend and icon, Muhammad Ali, famously called ‘The Greatest’ and a three-time World Heavyweight Boxing Champion and Olympic Gold Medalist, will be inducted into the WWE Hall of Fame Class of 2024 ahead of this year’s Wrestle Mania Festivities in Philadelphia, USA.

Ali’s influence transcended sports, as his work as an activist, artist, and personality established him as a renowned figure in the worldwide.

Ali in 1976, participated in “The War of the Worlds”, an exhibition match against Antonio Inoki in Japan, which is considered a precursor to modern mixed martial arts.

The event was held under specific rules, ended in a 15-round draw, captivating a whopping 32,000 spectators in attendance and garnering significant viewership via closed-circuit television, including 33,000 fans at Shea Stadium in Queens, New York.

Despite retiring from the game he loves so much with a 56-5 record, Ali continued his association with combat sports, serving as the special guest referee for the inaugural Wrestle Mania in 1984.

His signature right-hand punch to Piper in the match restored order and left an indelible mark on the event.

Ali’s legacy as one of the greatest athletes of all time continues to be a testament and manifestation for his contributions to the sport.
