Benin City – The 49th year remembrance anniversary of the matriarch of Omobude family, Princess Maria Enemwoeyomwan Omobude, nee Aghaghowen Osehon, will hold on Sunday, April 7.

According to a statement on behalf of the families of Omobude and royal family of duke of Ogua Village, by His Royal Highness Sylvester Aghaghowen, the Enogie of Ogua dukedom, the remembrance anniversary of his late elder sister, will hold at Omobude’s compound.

He said until her death on March 25, 1975, late Princess Omobude was a community leader, who discharged her duties to the development of not only Ogua Village, but the entire Benin Kingdom.

Enogie Aghaghowen maintained that the wise counselling, generosity and philanthropic gestures of his late sister when alive, stood her to be first among equals in terms of a compassionate leadership, as she focused on human capital development to build a crime free society, stressing her death was a devastating blow to the people, especially those who then were privileged to meet her.

Princess Maria Enemwoeyomwan Omobude who was the eldest child of the former Enogie of Ogua, HRH Aghaghowen Osehon of blessed memory, had children, grandchildren, brothers and sisters including in-laws.
