In the most recent FIFA ranking, Nigeria’s Super Eagles fell two spots, yet the three-time African champions maintain a considerable lead over their West African counterparts, Ghana.

The Super Eagles were ranked 28th in the world in the February ranking but dropped to 30th in the ranking released on Thursday, April 4, following the team’s mixed results in last month’s international break.

Following their 2-1 victory in last month’s international friendly against the Black Stars, the Super Eagles now hold a lead of 33 spots over their West African counterparts in the latest FIFA ranking.

In Finidi George’s debut game as interim manager, Nigeria secured a 2-1 victory against Ghana before suffering a 2-0 defeat to the Eagles of Mali just a few days later.

The Super Eagles also surpass Erling Haaland’s Norway (47th), Mohamed Salah’s Egypt (37th), and Canada (49th), the co-host of the upcoming World Cup.
