The Executive Chairman, Delta State Internal Revenue Services Hon Solomon Ighrakpata has charged banks to remit their taxes appropriately

Ighrakpata who made the appeal during a stakeholders meeting with regional managers of banks and their representatives, said the Service is not satisfied with their remittance, adding that modalities have been put in place to scrutinise their tax remittances in accordance with the law.

He reminded the regional bank managers and their representatives that there were stiff penalties for inaccurate remittance of taxes to government.

Ighrakpata, who was represented by Frank Nwugu, the Executive Director, Operations of the Delta State Revenue Service, observed that the feedback from the banks was not commensurate with calculated expectations of the service.

He maintained that the service would employ full implementation of the law on any banks which failed to cooperate with the Service for accurate remittance of their taxes.

The Interactive session between the Revenue Service, bank regional managers and stakeholders was well attended with questions raised which was well answered.
