Super Falcons head coach, Randy Waldrum believes his team deserved more from the clash with the Banyana Banyana of South Africa.

Nigeria’s Super Facons claimed a 1-0 victory over the reigning African champions in the first leg of their 2024 Olympic Games qualifier at the Moshood Abiola Stadium, Abuja on Friday night.

The Super Falcons had other chances to double their advantage in the second half but failed to beat Banyana Banyana goalkeper Kaylin Swart, Complete Sports reports.

Waldrum in is assessment claimed his side was unlucky not to score more goals.

“We were unfortunate not to get two, three goals,” Waldrum said after the game.

“I think the defence stood strong even with new players.

“(Chinwendu) Ihezuo was fantastic, she was the player of the match even if she didn’t score, her hold-up play was great, she has been playing well in Mexico this season, I think they were not prepared for her.”
