Vice President Kashim Shettima has cancelled his trip to the US to represent President Bola Tinubu at the 2024 US-Africa Business Summit hosted by the Corporate Council on Africa.

The Vice President’s Senior Special Assistant on Media and Communications, Stanley Nkwocha, revealed in a statement on Monday, that a technical fault with the VP’s aircraft was responsible for the change in plans.

The summit is scheduled to be held from May 6 to May 9, 2024

Minister of Foreign Affairs, Ambassador Yusuf Maitama Tuggar, will now represent President Bola Tinubu at the Summit, it is said.

”The Vice President will carry on with other national duties,” the statement read.
The summit will have in attendance, political and business leaders from across Africa, the United States, and other regions and will feature dialogue, networking sessions, and plenaries.
