The wife of chairman, Etsako Central Local Government, Mrs. Josephine Obomighie has met with physically challenged persons in Ugbekpe community in Ekperi Clan to convey her heartfelt love and message of hope to them.
Speaking with them, Mrs Obomighie stressed the need of building an inclusive community of care and support, adding that in spite of the challenges faced by them; they should still see themselves as equal with others.
Mrs. Obomighie said the necessity of nurturing an ambiance wherein everyone, including the physically challenged persons, is respected in the society assured them that the local government chairman cherished and recognized their unique individual contributions in the local government.
She noted some of the obstacles individuals may be facing, and encouraged them to rise above and assert their rightful place as members of the society, urging them also to take up any skill of their choice from the local government skills acquisition centre, as there is ability in every disability.
She however advocated a conducive environment and understanding by creating mutual respect among residents of Etsako Central Local Government Area.
Mrs. Obomighie’s message of hope resonated deeply among her audience, sparking optimism and unity among the people and her call for inclusiveness and equality serves as a crucial reminder of the importance of establishing a community where everyone is seen as one.
Mrs. Obomighie used the opportunity to extend warm greetings to HRM Alhaji DYE Kanoba, the Eghiegba of Ekperi Clan for his fatherly role in ensuring that there is peaceful coexistence in his domain.
The royal father, who was delighted over the visit of Mrs. Obomighie to see the physically challenged in the community, extended his sincere prayers to the chairperson for empowering individuals with disabilities in Etsako Central.
“Through this act of sharing and unity we aim to encourage a more supportive and inclusive environment for all members of our society”, the Eghiegba stated.
