Honourable Monday Osaigbovo, JP, Edo State Commissioner for Local Government, Community and Chieftancy Affairs, has been singled out for honour by some serving members of the National Youth Service Corps (NYSC) in Edo State, for a 2024 Meritorious Award of Excellence.
Presenting the award to the Commissioner in his office, the Corps’ members said the award was to recognize him for his numerous contributions to the development of humanity, the state, and the nation at large.
They noted that the Commissioner’s desire to leave a meaningful impact in the life of everyone who has crossed his path is astonishing and worthy of emulation.
Describing Hon. Osaigbovo as a thoroughbred politician, the Corpers said he is more interested in impacting the lives of the people around him; an attribute they say stands him out among regular Nigerian politicians.
Receiving the award, the Commissioner revealed that of all awards he had received this was one that will be so dear to his heart, the reason being that he had never expected that youths who were serving in the state would cave out time from their busy schedules to honour him, putting to heart that this persons are from different part of the country.
Appreciating the Corps’ members for honouring him, the Commissioner noted that such honour only means that he will have to do more for humanity, citing that for whom much is given, much is expected.
He also thanked the serving youth corps’ members for contributing to the development of the state, as he charged them to make use of several opportunities made available by the Governor Godwin Obaseki-led administration to enhance their capacity. He noted that Governor Godwin Obaseki had done a lot to ensure that anybody living in Edo State was well equipped with the necessary skills and knowledge to make it wherever they found themselves.
