…Yusuf Alli hails team’s spirit

Bendel Insurance Feeders on Friday defeated De Cordial Sports Club 3-0 to secure the sole ticket available in the South -South Zone, Bayelsa Center of the 2024 NYML/NLO Youth League and qualified for NLO1.

The three second-half goals scored by Meelubari Saturday ( 52mins, 67mins) and Midfield king Ini-obong (59mins) were all Insurance Feeders needed to triumph over De Cordial SC and conquer the Zone with their closest rivals, Morak FC finishing on 13 points as Insurance Feeders after a walk over against Dolphins Academy. Dolphins Academy did not show up for the final match at the Samson Siasia Stadium in Yenagoa.

Insurance Feeders won the Bayelsa Center with 13 points and 17 goals, while Morak FC came second with the same 13 points, but with 15 goals.

On the road to winning the NLO Youth League, South South, Insurance Feeders were held to a 2-2 draw by Morak FC in the opening match but went ahead to beat Dolphins 3-0 in the second match before over powering Junosa with a smashing 5-1. The young Benin Arsenals also thrashed Benedi FC 4-0 ahead of the 3-0 victory over De Cordial to conquer the Zone.

Meanwhile, the Executive Chairman, Edo State Sports Commission, Olympian Yussuf Alli has heaped praises on the Insurance Feeders for their commitment and show of disciplined character and team spirit throughout the competition.

Alli who watched his darling team played against De Cordial SC in Yenagoa, Bayelsa State said the coach Stanley Osazee managed Insurance Feeders have done Edo State proud.

“I have been supporting my boys from home and I am encouraged by the performance of the lads. So, I decided to watch them today in their last match and I am satisfied with their performance aside winning the ticket,” Alli said.

We will continue to encourage the team until they grow into the senior team,” he emphasised.
