… as NNL boss hails team
Nasiru Salisu scored twice as El-Kanemi Warriors triumphed over Abia Warriors 2-0 in the President Federation Cup final, securing their third title in the competition’s history.
Salisu had a penalty saved in the ninth minute but redeemed himself by putting the Maiduguri club ahead just after the half-hour mark. He then sealed the victory with a second goal 15 minutes from time.
Abia Warriors, making their first appearance in the competition’s final, were outclassed by Aliyu Zubairu’s team.
With this victory, El-Kanemi Warriors will participate in the CAF Confederation Cup next season and they will receive a cash prize of N50 million for winning the 2024 President Federation Cup.
Meanwhile, Nigeria National League, NNL, chairman, George Aluo has congratulated El-Kanemi Warriors for winning the 2024 President Federation Cup.
Aluo, in a message to El-Kanemi Warriors, said, “You have proven yourselves to be worthy testaments, and so your ticket to the NPFL was no fluke.
“This is victory for NNL and we are proud of your achievement. Your feat also defines quality in our league NNL as the Most Important league in Nigeria.
“We want to urge you to keep up the great effort and squeeze every opportunity for more success at the NPFL and CAF Confederation Cup in the new season.”
