Managing Director of Edo State Public Building and Maintenance Agency (EDPUBMA), Engr. Austin Osakue, has urged contractors handling government projects under the supervision of the agency to expedite action in delivering the same on agreed deadlines.

Engr. Osakue’s charge derived from Governor Godwin Obaseki’s determined stance not to leave any major projects for the next administration in the state.

The managing director spoke recently in his office during an interactive session with contractors and team leads, and encouraged contractors not to slow down the pace of work for fear of payment due to the time frame of this administration in office.

He said the government and the agency would always meet their contractual obligations to them, and enjoined them to voice out their concerns and challenges in order for him to forward them to the appropriate authorities.

Osakue used the occasion to allay the fears of the contractors who may have been affected by the upsurge in the prices of materials in the market, stating that Governor Obaseki has already approved fluctuation increment and letters would soon be issued to them in that respect.

He thanked them for turning up at short notice and encouraged them to fast-track their work to enable the administration to finish strong.

In their responses, the contractors and team leads assured the managing director that all projects under their supervision would be completed and delivered on schedule.
