Napoli’s new coach Antonio Conte has shed light on the ongoing speculation surrounding star striker Victor Osimhen’s future at the club. While Conte insists there are no major developments in Osimhen’s potential transfer, he hinted at an ‘agreement’ linked to the Nigerian’s possible departure.

Speaking at a press conference during Napoli’s pre-season training camp in Dimaro on Saturday, Conte addressed the club’s objectives for the new campaign, the team’s tactical setup, and Osimhen’s future.

Despite widespread rumors of Osimhen’s move away from Stadio Maradona this summer, Napoli has not received any formal proposals for the 25-year-old striker. The club would need to sell Osimhen to pursue other attacking targets, such as Chelsea’s Romelu Lukaku.

On Osimhen, Conte stated: “We are talking about Victor as a professional, an excellent, top player. I spoke to him and he knows that absolutely nothing has changed. He belongs to Napoli and he knows that those who belong to Napoli have to work hard and have the right attitude, even if there is this sort of agreement, that we still don’t know how it will end.”

Conte emphasized Osimhen’s professionalism and commitment, noting that the striker continues to train with a positive attitude, which is crucial for the team’s preparation for the upcoming season.
