President Bola Tinubu, representing the people of Nigeria, has sent his best wishes to Team Nigeria for the ongoing 2024 Paris Olympic Games.
This message was communicated in a statement signed by Ajuri Ngelale, Tinubu’s Special Adviser on Media and Publicity, titled, “President Tinubu Extends Best Wishes to Team Nigeria at 2024 Paris Olympics.”
Team Nigeria consists of 88 athletes, including 63 women and 25 men, competing in 12 sports at the 2024 Paris Olympic Games.
They are among 10,714 athletes from 205 countries participating in the Games, which will take place from July 26 to August 11, 2024.
“The President assures these bold and courageous ambassadors representing the country of his full support and that of over 200 million Nigerians back home, praying and cheering for their success.”
As the Games officially kicked off on Friday, July 26, the nation’s flagbearer, Ms.Tobi Amusan, the current world record holder in the 100 metres hurdles, and other athletes are competing with honour and dedication on the international stage.
Tinubu tasks the athletes to exhibit the resilience, courage, respect, discipline, self-control, and good sportsmanship that Nigerians are known for.
He also encouraged the coaching staff, support personnel, and Nigerian spectators attending the Games in Paris to serve as worthy ambassadors of the country.
