In a thrilling conclusion to the four-day “Hope Renewed 1st Anniversary Horse Racing Derby”, President Bola Tinubu’s horse, “Renewed Hope”, emerged victorious in the Division 1 ThoroughBreed race, covering 2,000 meters (10 furlongs) to take the top prize.
Organized by the Horse Racing Federation of Nigeria (HRFN), the event attracted top horses and riders from across the country. “Renewed Hope” won a saloon car, a cup, and N100,000 in prize money, outpacing “Sarauinya” which came second and received N1 million. “Holiday Parade” took third place with a prize of N700,000, while “Nawal” finished fourth and received N500,000.
The closing ceremony was graced by esteemed guests, including the Life Patron of the federation and Etsu Nupe, Alhaji Yahaya Abubakar, and representatives of the Emir of Gwandu and Ohinoyi of Ebiraland. The event was successfully coordinated by Alhaji Mustapha Abubakar-Bida, President of the federation, and Sarkin Dawakin Nupe.
