The Nigeria international is expected to leave the former Serie A champions this summer.
The Partenopei are however yet to receive a suitable offer for the powerful striker.
Osimhen’s contract includes a €130 million release clause, and despite links with Chelsea and Paris Saint-Germain, Napoli have not yet heard from potential suitors.
Interestingly, it’s been reported that Napoli has rejected Osimhen-Lukaku Swap Deal.
Italian transfer expert Pier Francesco Monachino has boldly claimed that Serie A giants Napoli will not consider Chelsea’s offer of Romelu Lukaku, Cesare Casadei, and cash in exchange for Nigerian international Victor Osimhen,
“Chelsea are willing to offer Romelu Lukaku and Cesare Casadei to Napoli to help lower the price of Victor Osimhen,” the publication wrote on X.
Speaking to Sky Sport Italia via IlNapolista, Monachino claimed that the 2022/2023 Serie A champions won’t sign the Belgian forward without selling the Nigerian.
“The first issue is Osimhen. In recent weeks we have mentioned Lukaku because when we talk about Conte we automatically talk about him.
“The Belgian himself said that Conte is the best coach he has had, but without Osimhen’s departure, Napoli will not go for Lukaku.
“The clause is €130m, however, Napoli will not go below three figures. The player obviously wants to stay in Europe; there was only an inquiry from Saudi Arabia.
“For Lukaku, Chelsea’s request is always over €40m. Milan is also interested in Lukaku.”
Victor Osimhen joined Napoli from Lille in the summer of 2020 for a club-record fee of €70m, with an additional €10m in bonuses. Over the past two seasons, he has been in outstanding form for the Partenopei, leading them to their first Scudetto title in over three decades.
The Lagos-born striker concluded the 2022/23 season with 26 league goals and was honored as the league’s best striker.
Despite a disappointing 2023/24 season for Napoli, where they won only 13 games, lost 11, and drew 14, Osimhen still delivered solid performances, scoring 15 goals and providing three assists in 25 league appearances.
Osimhen signed a new contract with Napoli in December, which runs until the summer of 2026 and reportedly includes a release clause of around £113m.
Despite this, top clubs continue to show interest in the Lagos-born striker, who has become one of the most sought-after forwards in Europe, with links to Chelsea, Arsenal, Paris Saint-Germain, Manchester United, and Liverpool, among others.
Napoli president Aurelio de Laurentiis has come to terms with the possibility of losing Osimhen. Although he initially insisted on a nine-figure sum being paid in full for Osimhen, the Italian club is now willing to lower their asking price for the Nigerian.
According to Italian outlet Corriere dello Sport, Napoli is prepared to reduce their demands for Osimhen and is open to bids of around €100m (£84.7m).
On Sunday, TeamTalk reported that Chelsea has been encouraged by the revised demand and is willing to offer players plus cash for Osimhen.
