The draw for the 2024/25 Carabao Cup Round 2 has been finalized, with the competition now divided into Northern and Southern sections.
At this stage, Burnley, Luton Town, and 13 other Premier League clubs not participating in European competitions will join the winners from Round 1.
The EFL has announced that Round 2 matches will be played during the week commencing August 26, 2024, with anticipation growing as teams compete for the coveted trophy.
In their statement, the EFL confirmed, “The draw for Round Two of the Carabao Cup has been finalized. Round Two matches will take place during the week commencing August 26. The Carabao Cup remains regionalized in the early rounds, with the draw divided into southern and northern sections until Round Three.
“After 47 teams secured their places in Round Two, the final three spots were claimed by Sheffield Wednesday, Plymouth Argyle, and Middlesbrough following their Round One victories on Wednesday night.
“Round Two marks the entry of Burnley, Luton Town, and the 13 Premier League clubs not involved in European competitions.”
As the tournament advances, excitement builds towards the crowning of a new champion.
