The Governor of Akwa Ibom State, Pastor Umo Eno, has promised to remit a one-off N1.2 billion for wardrobe allowance to teachers in public primary and post primary schools in the state.
The governor first made the promise on May 17, 2024 during the inauguration of the reconstructed CKS and Ewet Offot Model Schools in Uyo.
To this end, teachers, students, and pupils across all public and private schools have expressed gratitude to the benevolence of the State Chief Executive.
Recall the governor had, during Workers Day 2024 promised and paid N20,000 bonus to all civil servants across board. The governor has also approved the distribution of ARISE customized exercise books, payment of backlogs of outstanding leave grants to primary school teachers and prompt payment of subventions, among other entitlements.
In separate reactions, teachers and students unanimously expressed gratitude and noted that the governor’s commitment to achieving academic excellence and ensuring the welfare of teachers, staff, students, and pupils serves as a significant motivation for all to continue striving towards success within the education system of the state.
