Stephen Curry, the star guard for the Golden State Warriors, has agreed to a new one-year contract extension that will keep him with the team through the end of the 2026/27 season, ESPN reported on Thursday.
The 36-year-old Curry, who had two years remaining on the four-year contract he signed in 2021 worth $215.4 million, will now earn an additional $62.6 million from the extension. This comes after his recent gold medal win with Team USA at the Olympics.
Curry, who has spent his entire NBA career with the Warriors since being drafted by the team in 2009, averaged 26.4 points, 5.1 assists, and 4.5 rebounds per game last season. He holds the record for the most three-pointers in NBA history with 3,747 and counting.
A four-time NBA champion with the Warriors, Curry is also a two-time MVP and a 10-time All-Star.
