The organisers of the #EndBadGovernance protest has declared that they are staging a follow-up nationwide demonstration scheduled to commence on October 1.
The Take-It-Back Movement, organisers of the August protests added that the Federal Government did not meet any of the demands that triggered the 10-day nationwide protests.
Speaking with TheCable on Tuesday, Damilare Adenola, Director of Mobilisation of the Take-It-Back Movement, said the demands made during the August protests have been ignored by government.
Take-It-Back Movement Director of Mobilisation stressed that the only language Nigeria Government understands is protest.
“We call it Fearless in October — the follow up to the August protest,” he said.
Adenola continued, “We decided to follow up the protest since Tinubu’s administration has proven adamant and is yet to accede to even one of our demands as stated in our charter of demands.
“We have come to the realisation that protest is the only language that many despotic African leaders understand.
“That is why we decided to mobilise for another nationwide demonstration scheduled for October 1 till infinitum.”
Recall that on August 1-10, the #EndBadGovernance protest was spearheaded by the Take-It-Back Movement and a raft of civil society organisations, with thousands of Nigerians taking to streets across the country to rail against a pervasive economic hardship.
The 10-day protest was marred by looting and arson in the North.
Before the marches kicked off, the federal government pleaded with youths to shelve the demonstrations.
