Eterna Plc has announced the appointment of David Edet as the substantive company secretary/legal adviser following the resignation of Mandella Golkus on 22 August 2024. The company further said that Edet’s appointment was effective from August 26, 2024.

David Eder is a knowledgeable lawyer with extensive expertise in corporate and commercial law, energy law, dispute resolution, with company secretarial practice and corporate governance.

Edet holds a Bachelor of Laws degree (second class upper) from the University of Nigeria, Nsukka, and Master of Business Administration degrees from both Ahmadu Bello University and Quantic School of Business and Technology.

He has advised on a wide range of commercial transactions and has provided regulatory compliance across industries such as energy, shipping and maritime, telecoms and construction. He also possesses experiences in dealing with government and regulatory agencies across various places in Nigeria and is adept at solving the complexities that frequently arise in such engagements.

Edet has also acted as the tribunal secretary in several high-volume complex negotiation disputes under institutional rules such as the London Court of International Arbitration. This experience has sharpened his knowledge in complex dispute resolution mechanisms. He sits on the board of the international Center for Dispute Resolution (ICDR) Young & International.
