… as team intensifies preparation ahead new season
Bendel Insurance Football Club has announced its readiness for participation in the Governor Douye Diri Preseason Football Tournament in Yenagoa, Bayelsa state.
The Benin Arsenals confirmed their interest in participation in the Bayelsa Pre-Season Football Tournament in a letter of response to the tournament organisers, signed by the Secretary, Charles Ihimekpen on Tuesday, August 6, 2024.
According to Ihimekpen, the Pre-Season tournament which is scheduled to kick off on Monday, August 12, and end on August 18 at the Samson Siasia Stadium in Yenagoa, will offer Coach Monday Odigie managed Bendel Insurance FC the opportunity and platform to measure the blend of old and fresh players of the team ahead of the 2024/25 Nigeria Premier league scheduled to kick off on August 31, 2024.
“We consider the eight-team tournament as an opportunity and platform for us to test and blend our old and new players ahead of the new football season, considering the top-flight clubs involved,” Ihimekpen stated.
Kwara United, Sunshine Stars, Wari Wolves, Akwa United, Bayelsa United, Rivers United, Bendel Insurance, Abia Warriors, and 2023 Bayelsa State Federation Champions, Krusaders Feeders FC of Yenagoa, are the teams invited for the tournament.
Bendel Insurance FC finished 9th on the table of the 2023/24 season and has since July 15 begun the process of rebuilding with a mixture of old and fresh legs in the team.
