The first half ended goaless in the entertaining game, with the Crusaders making it difficult for the NPFL side.
Coach Monday Odigie, as expected paraded an evenly mixed team with old and new faces for the game as he continues with the rebuilding process and fine-tuning of his team ahead of the new football season.
The Benin Arsenals have been paired with Crusaders Feeders, Rivers Utd and Kwara Utd in Group B of the Bayelsa pre-seasoon.
Speaking, the head coach and Technical Director of Bendel Insurance FC, Monday Odigie commended the organisers of the tournament, noting that the Bayelsa pre-season tournament gives clubs in the Nigeria Premier League opportunity to test their teams ahead of season’s commencement.
“It is good for us and it will help the teams preparing for the NPFL,” Odigie said, stating that it is a part of modern days football requirements.
Bendel Insurance FC will be up against Rivers Utd in the Match Day 2 scheduled for Wednesday at the same Samson Siasia Stadium. Kick off time is 4:30 PM
