Tennis world number one Jannik Sinner has been cleared of any wrongdoing after two anti-doping violations earlier this season, the International Tennis Integrity Agency (ITIA) announced on Tuesday.

Sinner’s in-competition sample from the Indian Wells Masters on March 10, 2024, tested positive for low levels of clostebol, a prohibited anabolic agent. A subsequent out-of-competition sample also showed low levels of the same metabolite.

The ITIA confirmed that an independent tribunal, convened by Sport Resolutions, ruled that Sinner was not at fault or negligent for the violations.

The agency stated that the substance entered Sinner’s system due to contamination from a support team member who used an over-the-counter spray containing clostebol to treat a wound.
