The last May not have been heard over the recent arrest of some “wedding guests” at a same sex marriage in Warri Delta State as the police has launched a manhunt for others implicated for role and involvement in bisexual relationships.

Consequently, one Achara Chisom Favour has been declared wanted by the police after a futile attempt to apprehend him at his parents Benin City residence by some detectives from the Delta police command.

Achara Chisom Favour’s bisexual partner simply identified as Samson was said to have taken the police in search for Chisom after images in his phone showed his erotic relationship with him.

Though the police could not find the suspect, when they went looking for him from his home in Benin, the odium that follows the knowledge of a relative’s involvement in same sex relationship is unsettling and serious.

As a result, Chisom father, though reportedly confused and sceptical about allegations against his son Chisom at the first instance, became mad after he was presented with images of his son bisexual escapades.

He was said to have promptly disowned his Chisom and urged his wife and mother of Chisom to do likewise.

There was however a twist in the narrative when Chisom’s mother refused to comply with her husband’s directive, bringing her at a cross with the extended family members who promptly accused her of over indulging Chisom, an attitude they blamed for his waywardness.

Besides the enactment of the Same Sex Marriage Prohibition Act 2013, most communities in Nigeria and indeed Edo State perceive same sex relationship as a serious taboo deserving of severe expiation penalties including banishment.

The police have however vowed to arrest all persons of bisexual orientation in the States of Edo and Delta heightening fears of possible police invasion of citizen’s privacies.
