The Dangote Refinery, Africa’s largest petroleum refinery, has started processing petrol, with the Nigerian National Petroleum Company Limited (NNPLC) set to purchase its output for local distribution. This move is expected to relieve the ongoing fuel shortages in the country.

The refinery, with a capacity of 650,000 barrels per day, is set to significantly reduce Nigeria’s reliance on imported fuel. This development comes at a crucial time when the country is struggling with severe fuel scarcity.

According to Devakumar Edwin, a vice president at Dangote Industries Limited, “ We are testing the product, and it will soon be available in the market.”
