The Managing Director of the Edo State Public Building and Maintenance Agency, Engr. Austin Osaretin Osakue, says Governor Godwin Obaseki’s infrastructure transformation in Edo State is visible for all to see going by the projects that dot the three senatorial districts of the state.
He made this assertion recently at the Roof Top of the Secretariat Building, Sapele Road, during a get together with the staff of the agency to celebrate the accreditation of courses at the Edo State School of Health Technology Benin City, which he described as another milestone of this administration.
Engr. Osakue said it was so gratifying to note that the massive infrastructural work had upgraded the school to a world-class institution, which has helped in no small measure in fast tracking the accreditation process.
According to Osakue, the good news was received with great joy from the consultant to the school, Dr. Esther Oshunuyi, who confirmed that all courses offered in the school, including dental technology, dental therapy, health information management, community health, environmental health technology, public health nursing, were all accredited.
The upgrade of infrastructure at School of Health Technology, Osakue said, was one of the major projects of this administration that many had viewed as an uphill task that would not come to fruition due to the number of years the school was abandoned by previous administrations in the state.
He said in spite of the challenges encountered during the course of the work, the contractors and staff were able to deliver on the project on schedule, saying projects embarked upon by the Obaseki’s administration including the College of Agriculture lguoriakhi, the Edo State School of Nursing, the Stella Obasanjo Health Hub, the Education Hub lyaro, the Secretariat Complex and a lot more other infrastructural development are there for people to verify and see for themselves.
The Managing Director, who was elated, thanked the staff for their commitment and dedication to assigned tasks, which brought about the success being celebrated, stating that the celebration was in double fold as he was also made a Fellow of the Institute of Engineering.
It would be recalled that Governor Obaseki received the accreditation team in his office recently, who was on ground to ascertain the level of readiness and preparation for the take-off of academic activities in the institution.
