… as Hon. Emmanuel Agbaje, APC exco defect to ruling party

As the September 21 Edo governorship election approaches, the numerical strength of PDP has continued to increase with the defection of Hon. Emmanuel Agbaje and Akoko-Edo Ward 10 executives from APC to the ruling umbrella party.

Agbaje, a former two-time member of Edo State House of Assembly, who represented Akoko-Edo constituency 2 from 2015 to 2023, defected along with the entire APC EXCO ward 10 members in Akoko-Edo.

Speaking during a campaign rally at Okunugbe Primary School in Ososo, the Deputy Governor said the ancient community was unique, describing the locals as very resilient and peace-loving people.

Omobayo dismissed allegations by the opposition APC that he instigated the chaos that erupted at the party’s campaign rallies in Ososo and lgarra.

He emphatically stated that he played progressive politics with the interest of the people as his primary focus.

Omobayo also noted that Governor Godwin Obaseki had won the hearts of Edo people on account of his developmental strides in the various sectors of the state’s economy.

He enjoined the people to further demonstrate their love for Obaseki by coming out en masse to vote for Asue lghodalo and his running mate, Osarodion Ogie, on September 21.

The climax of the rally was when the Deputy Governor officially received Emmanuel Agbaje and APC EXCO members to the PDP, on behalf of Governor Godwin Obaseki.

On his part, Hon Emmanuel Agbaje hinged his defection on the inability of APC to fulfill its promises to the people.

He noted with dismay that APC and its members were notorious for telling lies to deceive the people; a situation he said, he could not cope with any longer.

With the defection of Agbaje and APC executive, PDP is poised for a resounding victory in Akoko-Edo ward 10 and by extension, the entire local government area.
