…amid complaints of disenfranchisement
Voting was still ongoing in parts of Etsako East at about 2pm on Saturday, September 21.
When our correspondent visited Echeadakwi Primary School comprising ward 9 unit 2, 3, 4, 10 and 11 in Imiegba, Etsako East, voters were seen still voting in a peaceful atmosphere, while those who had already voted were either going home or waiting in clusters discussing.
In Azamanodu Community College in Imiakebu, ward 9 unit 7, 15, 16, Etsako East, as at 2pm, a large number of voters were still on the queue waiting for their turn to cast their votes.
Meanwhile, some of the people, such as Endurance Edward, complained bitterly of being disfranchised, saying they could not find their names on the INEC register.
They said over 40 percent of the population of registered voters would not be able to exercise their civic right.
In the entire three units in the center, there was no single security agent, whether the police, civil defence or army.
